Lucy (Gay) Morse. From Alonzo Josselyn's photo album; notation by Edgar Josselyn: "Grandmother Morse"
Note: I have been unable to find a birth or baptism record to confirm Lucy Gay's parents. The following facts point to Solomon Gay Jr. and Chloe (Daniels) Gay of Sharon, Massachusetts as her parents: (1) Lucy lived in Sharon when her marriage intention was recorded in 1812, and she was married there; (2) of the three Gay households in Sharon appearing in the 1810 U. S. census, only that of Solomon Gay Jr. had a female in Lucy's age bracket; (3) the date of Lucy's birth fits in well with the births of Chloe's other children. - H. DeVoe.
