Jennie Mary Hopper was born in November 1875 in Harrison, Essex County, New Jersey.1 She was the daughter of John D. Hopper and Mary Ellen Van Houten.1

Jennie Mary Hopper married William Henry DeVoe, son of Isaac DeVoe and Cordelia A. Oakley, on 10 September 1894 in Harrison, Essex County, New Jersey.2,1

Jennie Mary Hopper appeared on the census of 23 April 1910 at 183 Brunswick Street, Newark, Essex County, New Jersey, in the household of her husband.3

In 1915 William, Jennie, and Hazel were at North 6th Street in Newark (1915 NJ State Census, Sheet 15, Reference Number L-05; Film Number 21.)1

Jennie Mary Hopper appeared on the census of 23 January 1920 at 257 Greylock Avenue, Belleville, Essex County, New Jersey, in the household of her husband.4

William (a sheet metal worker) and Jennie were listed in the 1934 City Directory of Newark at 688 Stuyvesant Avenue.1
