Alice Gertrude Josselyn was born on 11 April 1858 in Vernon Street, Roxbury, Massachusetts.1,2,3,4 She was the daughter of Alonzo Josselyn and Caroline Augusta Morse.

Alice Gertrude Josselyn appeared on the census of 20 July 1860 at Ward 3, City of Roxbury, Norfolk County, Massachusetts, in the household of her father.5

Alice Gertrude Josselyn appeared on the census of 29 July 1870 at West Roxbury, Norfolk County, Massachusetts, in the household of her father; she was recorded as attending school.6

Alice Gertrude Josselyn was married to George Nelson Bliss by Rev. Joseph B. Clark on 19 June 1879 at the Central Church, Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts.7,3,8,9,10

In 1896 she was accepted into the Daughters of the American Revolution, based on the role of her great-grandfather Ezra Morse in the American Revolution.11
