Caroline Elizabeth Josselyn was also called "Carrie." She was born on 15 September 1854 at Lenox Street, Boston, Massachusetts.1,2,3 She was the daughter of Alonzo Josselyn and Caroline Augusta Morse. Caroline Elizabeth Josselyn was called "Caroline" in later life; this is the name found in the Josselyn family death records and on her tombstone.4,2
Caroline Elizabeth Josselyn appeared on the census of 20 July 1860 at Ward 3, City of Roxbury, Norfolk County, Massachusetts, in the household of her father, where her name was shown as Carrie E. According to the census, she attended school within the year.5
Caroline Elizabeth Josselyn appeared on the census of 29 July 1870 at West Roxbury, Norfolk County, Massachusetts, in the household of her father where her name was listed as Carrie E; she was recorded as attending school.6
Caroline Elizabeth Josselyn appeared on the census of 1 June 1880 at Alveston Street, Boston, Massachusetts, as a boarder in the household of Benjamin W. Putnam, teacher and lecturer.7 She was a teacher according to the 1880 census.7
In 1884 and 1885, Caroline Elizabeth Josselyn was reported to be a kindergarten teacher, with 50 pupils and one assistant, in a school at Green Street, Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts.8,9
Caroline Elizabeth Josselyn was a member of the Appalachian Mountain Club from 1885 to 1907.10

Caroline Elizabeth Josselyn was the principal of the kindergarten in the school at 147 Ruggles Street, Boston, from 1889 (or earlier) until at least 1905.30,31,32,33 In 1908 her residence was reported as 4 Elm Street, Jamaica Plain and her annual compensation was given as $792.34
Caroline Elizabeth Josselyn was retired on 31 August 1908 with a pension of $114 per year, after having taken a leave of absence from teaching in January.35
Caroline Elizabeth Josselyn died on 28 December 1908 in Brookline, Massachusetts, at age 54.4,2 She was buried on 30 December 1908 in Forest Hills Cemetery, Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts.2,36,37
