Math 410 Exams, Fall 2019

There will be two in-class exams and a two-hour final exam. These exams are the only major grading events for this course. They are scheduled as follows.

In-Class Exams:

The letter grade cutoffs and the grade distribution for the 31 students who took the exam was

The score distribution was bimodal with clusters around 55 and 75.
The high score was 93.

Better! The score distribution between 73 and 100 was fairly flat with a median of 85.
The mode was 78. The high score was 100.

Final Exam:

Friday, 13 Dec, 8:00am - 10:00am in MTH 0101
Please Arrive by 7:55am and Bring Your Photo ID.

Calculators, books, or notes may not be used during exams.

The two in-class exams will be worth 100 points each. Make-up exams are rarely given.
The two-hour Final Exam will be worth 200 points. It will be based on the entire course but will emphasize material not covered on previous exams.
If class is cancelled for any reason on the day of a scheduled in-class exam then that exam will take place the next time the class meets.
If the scheduled final exam is cancelled for any reason then the University will reschedule it.
If you miss the Final Exam, and if by the next day you present a legitimate, well-documented excuse showing that for reasons beyond your control it was absolutely impossible for you to take the Final Exam, and if you have a passing grade at the time of the Final Exam, then you will receive a grade of ``I'' for the course. In all other cases a score of zero will be assigned for the Final Exam and your course grade evaluated accordingly.
