Jane Robertson

Jane Robertson was born on 20 November 1810 in Coupar Grange, Perthshire, Scotland.¹ She was the daughter of David Robertson and Catherine Mitchell. Jane Robertson was baptized on 25 November 1810 at Bendochy Church, Bendochy, Perthshire, Scotland.²

Jane Robertson married Robert Troup, son of John Troup and Agnus Archbold, on 18 January 1836 at Blairgowrie Parish Church (Hill Top Church), Blairgowrie, Perthshire, Scotland.³ Jane Robertson was also known as "Jean."

A letter in the possession of James Alexander Troup, grandson of James Troup, contains the following: Mrs Robert Troup, according to your grandmother Mrs James Troup, was a very fine person. A friend of the family's whom I met in York 32 years ago, said father and mother were so "broad Scotch" that she could not understand what they said.⁹

Jane Robertson died of senile decay on 2 September 1882 at 48 High Street, Skelton, Yorkshire, England, at age 71.^10,11 She was buried in the churchyard, Skelton Old Church, Skelton, Yorkshire, England.
