May MacLauchlan was born in 1874 or 1875 in New York State.1 According to the 1930 census, her father was born in Canada and her mother in Germany.1

May MacLauchlan married Arthur Governor DeVoe, son of Isaac DeVoe and Cordelia A. Oakley, on 21 August 1904.2

May MacLauchlan appeared on the census of 17 April 1930 at 15 Rathbun Avenue, White Plains, Westchester County, New York, in the household of her husband.1

May MacLauchlan died on 27 March 1939 if the source has been interpreted correctly.3 The 1940 census shows her husband as a widower.4
