TARGETS FOR REVISING
Rationale
Easy to Spot
Harder to Spot
Simple Sentence Syndrome
Passive sentences contain two verbal elements:
1.) a form of ' to be'
am, is, are, was, were, been, being, be
2.) a verbal participle, often the same as a verb's past tense
tell >>> told
BUT, there are many irregular forms
see >>> seen (not "saw")
run >>> run (not "ran")
fly >>> flown (not "flew")

Fortunately, you can use the power of your word processor to find passives until you learn to recognize them.
