John Dwelley's surname was also spelled "Dwelly." Another variation was "Dwelle." He was born about 1660.1 He was the son of Richard Dwelley.

John Dwelley married Rachel Buck, daughter of John Buck and Elizabeth Holbrook, on 4 January 1692/93.2,1,3,4 John Dwelley resided near Dwelley's Creek, Scituate, Plymouth County, Massachusetts.1 He and Rachel Buck left fifteen children, principally in Hanover, Massachusetts.5

John Dwelley died on 1 April 1718.6,7 He was buried in Second Church Cemetery, Norwell, Plymouth County, Massachusetts.7
