John Buck married Elizabeth Holbrook, daughter of Samuel Holbrook.1 John Buck was in Scituate, Massachusetts, by 1650.1 He lived in 1651 on the west side of Walnut Tree Hill, Scituate, Massachusetts.1 He became "Cornet of the Troopers" before King Philip's War (1675-76),2 and was constantly in service in this war.1 A cornet was a commissioned officer of a cavalry troop who carried the standard.3
