Christina Wegenast was born on 6 September 1817 in Mühlheim am Bach, Württemberg, Germany.1 She was the daughter of Christian Wegenast and Christina Bernhard.1

Her daughter and granddaughter used the spelling "Christene Wegenist."2,3 The Illinois marriage records gave her maiden name as "Christinia Wignist."4 The death certificate of her daughter Mary (Mayer) Hannah, with information provided by her granddaughter Ella (Hannah) Josselyn, states that her surname was "Wagenosh" and that she was born in Holland.5

Christina Wegenast came to America on 1 October 1853 from Mühlheim am Bach, Württemberg, Germany.2

Christina Wegenast married John Jacob Mayer on 2 August 1857 in Paris, Illinois.4,2

Christina Wegenast appeared on the census of 14 July 1860 at Dolson Township, Clark County, Illinois, in the household of her husband.6

Christina Wegenast died in 1865.2
