Anna Barbara Wegenast was born on 20 April 1846 in Mühlheim am Bach, Württemberg, Germany.1 Her mother was unmarried at the time of her birth.2 She was the daughter of Georg Stierle and Christina Wegenast.2

Anna Barbara Wegenast was confirmed 22 April 1860 in the church in Mühlheim am Bach, Württemberg, Germany.1 Dietmar Strobel, the historian of Mühlheim an Bach, recognized the script of the parson Rudolf Zimmermann on the confirmation certificate.3

Anna Barbara Wegenast emigrated to America from Mühlheim am Bach, Württemberg, Germany, in 1865.4 According to the Castle Garden immigration records, a Barbara Wegenast, age 19, arrived in New York 27 July 1865 on the ship Teutonia from Hamburg.5

Anna Barbara Wegenast married John Jacob Mayer, son of John Jacob Mayer and ____ ____, on 12 November 1865 in Vigo County, Indiana.6

Anna Barbara Wegenast appeared on the census of 3 June 1880 at 1128 South 13th Street, Terre Haute, Vigo County, Indiana, in her husband's household; her name was recorded as Barbara and she was shown as keeping house.7

Anna Barbara Wegenast died on 5 June 1885 at age 39.8
