What is Geography?

Geography, according to the Association of American Geographers, is "the science of place and space. Geographers ask where things are located on the surface of the earth, why they are located where they are, how places differ from one another, and how people interact with the environment."

Why Alaska?

Alaska is a land of stunning physical beauty, fascinating cultures, and rich in natural resources. The extreme variations in climate, flora, fauna, and terrain make it a fascinating area for geographical study.

The site is intended primarily for middle and high school students and the general public seeking information about the resources, people, and physical landforms of that state.
