Taking Care of Our World

Summer Camp Week 2- June 29, 2015     Lesson Plans
Week two's focus was on recycling and how another building on campus, (the Student Union) takes care of the Earth. Campers had a visit from a UMD recycling specialist Adrienne Small who also coordinated a trash truck visit. On Wednesday the children were given a tour by Dan Wray, of the Stamp Student Union. Mr. Wray showed the children many ways facilities and the college students followed sustainable practices, then Mr. Dan treated everyone to UMD icecream!

The vocabulary word for this week was sustainability. One camper described it as, "Something you can keep on using over and over".
