Hello everyone! My name is MacKenzie Oliver and I am an Elementary Education major at The University of Maryland, College Park. With this major I plan to educate the youth due to the lack of educators across the nation. Accomplishing this goal of mine does not only benefit students but can also increase diversity amongst fellow educators so students who look just like me can see themselves in my shoes. At UMD I am apart of the Science and Global Change scholars program. Within this program we cover different aspects of most STEM majors and how it relates to the overall health and wellbeing of our planet. On my free time I enjoy hanging out with my friends, crocheting and listening to music. I am apart of a club called SisterToSister, this is a multi-ethnic female led educational club where we come together as minorities in a predominantly white institution. In this club we do numerous community service projects and bonding exercises.
