James Card

The 1850 Morse genealogy by Rev. Abner Morse gives his surname, no doubt mistakenly, as Bard. James Card was born about 1807 in Maine.1,2

James Card married Lucy Gay Morse, daughter of Harford Morse and Lucy Gay, on 14 June 1835 at Roxbury, Massachusetts.3,4

James Card appeared on the census of 18 July 1860 at Roxbury, Massachusetts.1 He was a blacksmith according to the July 1860 census.1

James Card appeared on the census of 29 June 1870 at Boston, Massachusetts.2 The June 1870 census indicated that he was "insane."2 On the census, the value of his real estate was shown as 5000 and the value of his personal estate as 12000.2

James Card died before June 1880, as the census of 4 June 1880 shows his wife to be widowed.5
