Charles Josselyn was born on 7 May 1739 in Pembroke, Massachusetts.1,2 He was the son of Henry Josselyn and Hannah Oldham. Charles Josselyn was christened on 3 June 1739 in Pembroke, Massachusetts.3

Charles Josselyn married Rebecca Keen on 10 July 1760.4,5 Charles Josselyn and Rebecca Keen resided in Pembroke, Plymouth County, Massachusetts.4 He responded to the Lexington Alarm of 1775 in Captain Turner's Company of the Massachusetts Militia.3 He was declared non compos mentis (mentally incompetent) in 1794 (Plymouth County Probate #11639) and was placed under the guardianship of Charles Josselyn, Jr.6

Charles Josselyn died on 21 November 1812 in Pembroke, Plymouth County, Massachusetts, at age 73.4,7 He left no will; his estate was administered through letters of administration granted to Charles, Jr. in 1812 (Plymouth County Probate #11640).6
