Katherine Battell was born in the late 1100s or early 1200s. She was the daughter of Sir Thomas Battell and Elizabeth de Enfeild.1
Katherine Battell married John Jocelyn, son of Ralph Jocelyn and Beatrice de Beseville.2,3
Roger Joslyn, a certified genealogist, in correspondence quoted by Carol A. Kroeger in her Josselyn Family History, warned that the family lineage before about 1248 is suspect because it is from pedigrees in the Visitations, with little or no primary documentation to back it up.4
