Preparation of Lactobacillus Selection Agar (LBS)
Ingredients:
Sodium Acetate*3H2 O 25g
Glucose 20g
Agar 15g
Pancreatic Digest of Casein 10g
KH2PO4 6g
Yeast Extract 5g
Ammonium Citrate 2g
Polysorbate 80 1g
MgSO4 0.575g
FeSO4 0.034g
MnSO4 0.12g
Glacial Acetic Acid 1.32ml
Preparation:
Dissolve the agar in 500mL of water by boiling.Dissolve all other ingredients in 500 ml of water; adjust the pH to 5.4 usingHCl and mix with the melted agar. Boil for another five minutes and pourplates. No further sterilization is needed. Avoid repeated melting and cooling.
