El valle central es diferente, aquí podemos encontrar : cactus, espinos, pastizales y araucarias.
Desde Valdivia al sur podemos encontrar densos bosques pluviales con muchos variedades de laurel, roble, raulí, ñirre, caihuf, ciprés, mañío y coníferas.
El extremo sur tiene vegetación de pastos esteparios.
Entre los mamíferos podemos mencionar : la llama, alpaca, vicuña, guanaco, zorro, huemul, pudú y chinchilla.
Hay una gran variedad de pájaros, algunos de ellos son: cóndor, choroy, loica, tórtola, etc.
No hay muchos peces en lagos y ríos: pejerrey y salmón, mientras que en el mar hay muchos peces, mariscos y animales marinos.

From Valdivia to the south we can find dense rainy forests and many varieties of laurel, oak, raulíe, ñirre, caihuf, cypress, mañío and coniferous.
The southernmost part of Chile has steppe vegetation.
Among the mammals we can mention the llama, alpaca, vicuña, guanaco, puma (american panther), fox, huemul, pudú ( a chilean variety of deer) and chinchilla.
There is a great variety of birds, some of them are : cóndor, choroy, loica, turtledove, etc.
There aren´t many fish in lakes or rivers : pejerrey (a variety of mackerel) and salmon, while in the sea there are lots of fish, shellfish and marine animals.
