Here are two views of team 5's manufactured crane. The crane has been tested at the design load of 50 pounds!
This is a picture of the body and boom assembly. Down the center of the boom the worm geear and worm assembly can also be seen. A set of lock washers and nuts holds the worm gear in place to keep them from slipping. The same setup is done for the worm. Friction from the meshing gears will keep the boom from slipping a substantial amount.
