Week 6
This is our last week of camp. We have learned so much and had so much fun. Now is the time for us to share all that we have learned with others by creating our own Native American Museum right in the Rock n Roll Blueberry Room. We are dressing the part too. We dyed tee shirts with some of the red clay we collected at Paint Branch creek, then we fringed them and added beads. We also made feathered head dresses and we wore the moccasins we made last week.

The museum was a huge success. Parents, Grandparents, friends, family and staff all come over to see what the Blueberries had learned. Each tour guide was able to explain everything from what type of houses different groups of Native Americans lived in to what games they played and the different tools they used. Everyone was impressed, especially the teachers, with the knowledge each camper had learned and were able to convey. They even put an article about us in the online College Park Patch newsletter!

Moms and Dads look at how much fun your kids are having playing the "Clean Your Room" game. This is one of the fun games Ms. D our music and movement teacher taught us this summer. Our recorder skills skyrocketed too. |
Thursday
We returned to Paint Branch Creek one more time. This time an expert fisherman, Mr. David, came and helped us each catch two fish! Most were Sunfish. We also found what looked like Indian artifacts. Tess found the most and shared them at our morning meeting on Friday. We learned about tracking and identifying tracks just before we went to the creek and when we got there we were able to identify deer and dog tracks. Some of the children made a plaster cast of the dog track to take back to the Blue Room.

![]() One of our Grandfathers sent a piece of authentic Pueblo Pottery to each of our children and teachers from his collection. Everyone received a different pattern, each as beautiful as the next. We were all very thrilled to have something so finely crafted. Thank you Mr. Sikoris! |
