Leidy Umanzor is a freshman attending the Univesity of Maryland, class of 2025. She is in the Scholars Science and Global Change Program and is studying to be a Chemical Engineer.
Leidy is from Prince George’s County, Maryland, and graduated from Eleanor Roosevelt High School as part of the Science and Technology Program. She’s now attending the University of Maryland and is excited to make the most of everything it has to offer. Leidy is currently involved in the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) and the Latinx Student Union, where she continues to build community and explore her interests.
