Hello, my name is Tanya Niak and I am a freshman student studying computer engineering at the University of Maryland at College Park (UMD). I am a proud member of the College Park Scholars: Science and Global Change, Women in Engineering, and the Iranian Student Foundation. So far in my experience as a UMD student, I have been able to forge new friendships and experiment with new subjects. A key part of why I love UMD so much is that it is a tremendously diverse school where students from all regions of the world can come together and exchange different ideas and perspectives.
