Figure 1: A visual representation of the emotion surrounding the event's cancellation
The United States Congress was tasked with funding the goverenment by the date of October 1, 2025, when the current funds were scheduled to run out. Unfortunately, the main two political parties were incapable of negotiating a compromise and doing their job. As a result of their inaction, we were forced to suffer, inheriting the problem of finding a new event to write an excursion report on with the limited time remaining in the semester that did not have any schedule conflicts with other preexisting commitments.
Although it would have been standard and just to remove the excursion report requirement for those who were signed up to go since the sign up form was unlocked at approximately 9:08 am on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, it would not have been completely fair to those individuals who were signed up for a different excursion. In other words, it became imposible to provide a completely fair solution, and despite the fact that I signed up the moment the form became available, and despite the fact that I've been looking forward to this for some time, and despite my concerns that the government may not act in time, it became my problem to have to go out of my way to search for an event that was possible to attend, considering my busy schedule and existing commitments. Luckily, there was an option the following day, and I decided to go in the event that Congress failed to do something that didn't require much effort, and something that they knew they had to do by the deadline that was months away. The link to that report is below.
Honestly, just be glad that Congress doesn't need a college degree, because based on this, they would never be able to submit any homework assignment on time, let alone pass a class or complete a whole degree program.
