My name is Princess and I am a Cell Biology major (Biological Science and Genetics) at UMD (University Of Maryland). During my time as a student at UMD and also as an active member of the College Park Scholars Program specifically the Science and Global change scholars program, I gain a better understanding of myself as well as my surroundings. Although I am looking forward to meeting and making new friends as a member of the Science and Global change scholars program, I also hope to gain an insight of the scientific views on the issues we are facing in our world today in terms of global change as well as possible solutions that could limit the advancement of this issue. Moving onward to my personal goals, as of right now, I plan on attending medical school after achieving my undergraduate degree. During this fall semester at UMD, although I commuted, I have still been able to interact with school activities as well as meet different people from different background which broadens my general perspectives. Overall, as a freshman, UMD gets more exciting and interesting as I get to learn more about its environment and I am looking forward to what my scholar program has to offer.
