Hello, my name is Mayuri Chakkara. I am currently a sophomore majoring in Applied Mathematics at the University of Maryland, College Park. I am a member of the Science and Global Change Scholars Program. On campus, I am involved in the Actuary Club, which aligns with my career interests.
In my free time, I enjoy baking, listening to music, playing the guitar, playing volleyball with friends, and watching anime. I have experience tutoring middle school students in mathematics, and I aspire to become an actuary– a professional who specializes in assessing and managing financial risk.
Outside of academics, I am excited to welcome two kittens into my life soon, one of whom is pictured above. During my time in college, I hope to not only build a strong academic foundation but also create lasting memories.
