Hello, my name is Lucy Hayes. I'm from Ellicott City, Maryland, and I'm currently a sophomore in Environmental Science and Technology at UMD. Although I am undecided for my concentration for ENST, I'd like to do something with a lot of field work. I also have a big interest in Spanish, music, and art. I'm looking to pursue a minor in Spanish. Personally I'm really excited to about all the opportunities the Scholars program offers me, in addition, the theme of Science and Global Change really aligns with my major so I am glad I chose it. One of my goals is in the future, when the pandemic situation is cleared up, I would love to study abroad in a Spanish speaking country to both fulfill my major's credits needed and get experience in my target language. However, my main goal is to help combat anthropogenic global change, I hope that any job resulting from my college experience will help in that.
