Hey, my name is John Skae and I am a sophomore at the University of Maryland- College Park, in the Science and Global Change Scholars Program. I am also a general biology major and I am from New York. I have a lot of family members in the earth science field, which is why I choose to be in SGC rather than another scholars program. I believe that the world needs to make a change so reduce carbon emissions into the atmosphere. One of the biggest things I want to get out of my scholars' experience is learning more about how the world has changed over the past thousand years, and how we can assist the earth to move away from dangerous global warming. In addition, I am excited for my possible practicum project, being that I want to shadow a doctor because I plan on going into medicine in the future. I want to do well enough in my major to prepare myself for medical school so that med school will be easier and I will do better on the MCAT.
