Hello, my name is Jacob Mullin. I am a Sophomore at the Unversity of Maryland in the College Park Scholars, and I am planning on majoring in Electrical Engineering. I attended Mount Saint Joseph High School and was apart of the National Honor Society for two years. I played soccer for Mount Saint Joseph for two years and for the Ellicott City Soccer Club for five years. I have learned many valuable skills throughout my time in high school, and even here at UMD in these first couple weeks. These skills include:

During the Summer of 2021 I had an internship with the Johns Hopkins Data Analytics program and attended the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Lab Cybersecurity Workshop. During the Data Analytics Summer Internship I used applied data analysis methodologies, which included data visualization, probability distributions, data scraping and cleansing, hypothesis testing, and regression modeling. In addition to this I also worked with Microsoft Excel, MATLAB, and Octoparse. During my time at the Cybersecurity Workshop I learned about cybersecurity basics, online safety, ehtical hacking, penetration testing, intrusion detection, and system hardening. During the 2022 and 2023 school years I had experience working at an elementary and middle school aftercare program. I received a certification in CPR and First Aid and tutored the students in STEM subjects while being responsible for up to thirty children in a given day.
