John De Voe was also called "Johannis."1 He was born in 1697 in Hackensack, New Jersey.2,3 He was the son of Abraham De Vouw and Mynno Jurckse.2
John De Voe became a prominent member in the "Old Sleepy Hollow Church."2
John De Voe married Hester See, daughter of Jacob See and Catharina Storm, on 9 November 1723 at the Old Dutch Church, Sleepy Hollow, Westchester County, New York.2,3 John De Voe became a member of the Old Dutch Church of Sleepy Hollow on 31 October 1724; he was elected a deacon, 1736-1738, and an elder, 1744-1746.4 He was buried in the Old Dutch Burying Ground, Sleepy Hollow, Westchester County, New York.5,6
