Hester See was also known as "Esther." Her last name was also spelled "Sie." She was born before 25 March 1706 in the Manor of Philipsburgh, Westchester County, New York.1 She was baptized on 25 March 1706.2,3 She was the daughter of Jacob See and Catharina Storm.
Hester See married John De Voe, son of Abraham De Vouw and Mynno Jurckse, on 9 November 1723 at the Old Dutch Church, Sleepy Hollow, Westchester County, New York.4,1 Hester See became a member of the Old Dutch Church of Sleepy Hollow on 31 October, 1724.5
Hester See was buried in the Old Dutch Burying Ground, Sleepy Hollow, Westchester County, New York.6,7 Her gravestone is now broken off, but an earlier recording of the inscription supposedly showed her date of death to be 15 April 1727.6 This date is obviously incorrect, as her youngest child was born in 1747. A date of death of 15 April 1772 appears on several web sites, but none I have seen cite a source for this date.
