Mary Elizabeth Wheeler was born on 27 June 1832 in New Milford, Connecticut. She was the daughter of John S. Wheeler and Elvira Buck.1

Mary Elizabeth Wheeler married Artemus Ward Eggleston, son of Horatio Eggleston and Tamara Conklin, on 13 March 1854 in New Milford, Connecticut.1

Mary Elizabeth Wheeler died on 4 March 1907 in White Plains, Westchester County, New York, at age 74.2
