Charlotte Anne Troup was born on 6 November 1895 in White Hurworth, Wingate, County Durham, England.1 On the 1901 census and the certificate of her marriage to Alfred Sams, her father is given as David Troupe.2,3 She was the daughter of Jane Troup.

Charlotte Anne Troup appeared on the census of 31 March 1901 at West Hartlepool, County Durham, England, in the household of her father.2

Charlotte Anne Troup married Alfred Sams, son of Eli Sams, on 28 May 1917 at the Congregational Church, Tower Street, West Hartlepool, County Durham, England.4,5,3 Charlotte Anne Troup lived at Norton Villa, Park Road, West Hartlepool, County Durham, England, at the time of her marriage, and was a domestic servant.3

Alfred Sams and Charlotte Anne Troup eventually moved to Essex with their daughter Rosa.4 She and Alfred Sams were divorced about 1930.4,5

Charlotte Anne Troup died on 18 October 1958 in 27 Ellerton Gardens, Becontree Heath, Barking, Essex, England, at age 62.5
