Jane Chastelin was born in the late 12th century. She was the daughter of William Chastelin and Joan Sulliard.1
Jane Chastelin married Henry Jocelyn, son of James Jocelyn and Joan Threckenholm.2
According to research published by Elizabeth French in 1917, Ralph Jocelyn was the son of Jane Chastelin and Henry Jocelyn.3
Roger Joslyn, a certified genealogist, in correspondence quoted by Carol A. Kroeger in her Josselyn Family History, warned that the family lineage before about 1248 is suspect because it is from pedigrees in the Visitations, with little or no primary documentation to back it up.4
