Hello! My name is Hana Chytil. This is my professional website outlining my accomplishments and scholars activities at the University of Maryland, College Park.

I am 20 years old, and from Acton, Massachusetts. I swim competitively on the UMD club team and am the Co-Recruitment Chair of the Professional Environmental Science Fraternity, Epsilon Eta, here at UMD.

I am majoring in Environmental Science and Technology, with a concentration in Ecosystem Health. I am excited to continue gaining research experience in the field with opportunities from my department in the college of Agriculture and Natural Resources! Currently I am a lab assistant in the Nutrient Management Research Lab at UMD, where I focus on processes stormwater and soil samples. This past summer I was an intern at the Maryland Department of the Environment, where I gained useful experience relating to watershed management practices. In Spring 2023 I had the opportunity to complete my scholars practicum project in the Aquaponics Lab here at UMD, where I focused on researching the efficiency of aquaponics filtration systems by testing water quality throughout the system. You can find more information about this project under the SGC Practicum Poster and Practicum Reflection Essay Links.

I have made so many memories and undergone valuable experiences through the scholars program. To see more in depth about these experiences and projects, take a look at the links below.
