The students visit the Dinosaur Garden at the U.S. Botanic Garden in Washington, D.C., to get a feeling for what the world of the dinosaurs in which the tree lived, must have been like.

There is more work to do however, if one really wants to find a dinosaur today. Clay which contains dinosaur fossils, has been brought by truck to the Watkins Elementary School grounds.
