I Can Find a Dinosaur Myself
by Peter M. Kranz, PH.D

The students from Mrs. Henderson's Montessori class at the school, examine the clay carefully for dinosaur fossils because as Dr. Kranz has told them, it is always better to find a fossil sooner than later. The longer a fossil is handled, the greater the chance it will be damaged.
The "Junior Palenotologists" asemble their tools for their dinosaur fossil search. They have 5 gallon buckets, sieves and a garden hose.
Soaking clay First, the clay must be soaked in buckets to soften it.
Then, the students mix the clay in with their hands until it is totally suspended in the water and all the fossils are free of the sticky clay. Hands in clay
This is very muddy work, but the students enjoy it.
