This program includes a site visit by Dinosaur paleontologist Dr. Peter Kranz, a noted authority. National Capital Region, and an audiovisual presentation on dinosaurs with an emphasis on local dinosaurs and their history. Dr Kranz will bring Dinosaur and other fossils with him. Hands on component optional where appropriate. |

Contributors receive a certificate with a map of the planned local "Dinosaur Park" and a picture of the proposed state Dinosaur signed by Dr Kranz indicating that the subscriber is an official contributor to the Dinosaur Fund. |

At the Dinosaur Dig you will dig, wash and sort fossil-bearing clay for Dinosaur bones and other fossils. |

To participate in the Dinosaur Project, a truck load of Dinosaur bearing clay is brought to your school or chosen location. The group or school screens the clay for the Dinosaur bones. Important discoveries go to the Smithsonian Institution. All others are retained by the group or school. Minimum time required: 4 hours for a visit to an existing site or 1 year for site development at your school or location. |

Groups set specific dates and times to take fossil collecting trips with Dr. Kranz. Bring plastic bags (grocery and smaller sanwhich) for your discoveries. Wear old clothes and shoes that can get muddy and wet. |

Dr. Kranz will give your group a unique perspective and special insights as you tour the famous Smithsonian Dinosaur Hall with him. Includes interactive and hands-on activity. |

In December 1995, Maryland National Capital Park and Planning Commission acquired 22 acres near Blue Ponds Park, Muirkirk, Prince George's County, Maryland , for a Dinosaur Park. This park will be a permanent site (perhaps the first in the world) for participatory Dinosaur digs, open to the public. |
