Hello, my name is Elizabeth Spencer. I am from Towson, Maryland. I am working towards earning my major in Civil Engineering at the James A. Clark School of Engineering at the University of Maryland.

I am a part of the Science and Global Change Scholars program, where I hope to learn more about how the impacts of human activity over time have had detrimental consequences to the world we live in. And by understanding these consequences we can use science and adjustment of our actions to remedy these effects.

I have grown up loving the outdoors and all that nature has to offer. I look forward to associating myself with different activities that highlight the importance of nature and the environment on campus. During my time at the University of Maryland, I hope to use what I learn in my major to understand and implement the impacts that I can have on the environment regarding renewable energy and resources.
