Hi, my name is Cade Bergeron. I am a Sophomore at the University of Maryland in the Science and Global Change (SGC) Scholars program. I am majoring in bioengineering and am on the pre-med track. In high school I was a member of a local environmental activist group called Harford County Climate Action. As a member of this group, I was able to participate in environmental protests, rallies, Earth day celebrations, and World Wetlands' days. I had always been interested in the environment but this experience cemented my desire to make environmental activism an important part of my life. This is also why I decided to pursue the SGC Scholars program. In SGC, I have learned more about climate change and want to use what I have learned to make a difference in my community.
