For high school, I attended the Science and Mathematics Academy at Aberdeen High School in Harford County. As a part of the program, I completed at 300-hour capstone project, conducting biomedical research at the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) in Baltimore, MD.



Figure 2 (above): This is a picture of me completing my scholars serves activity.

For my scholars serves activity, I wrote letters to the adults in my life that do not think climate change is a critical threat, as well as to my local, state, and federal representatives. Under 50% of older Americans see climate change as a critical threat. This is unacceptable, as climate change is a real problem that must be addressed. I wrote a letter addressing why climate change is a critical threat and described what we can do to be proactive. In order to see change, our federal, state, and local representatives must create policies that will reduce the amount of greenhouse gasses in the atmosphere.
