The ArtEmpower website utilizes many different databases. Most evident on all pages, there is search functionality that would query database tables of elements tagged with metadata information by a site administrator.

The Connect page includes a forum that accesses a membership database (information originally entered by new members in web form) to display the username based on login. The commenter enters text, which is saved in a database table along with username and time and date stamp from system session information.

The Communities pages (current prototype includes only Rwanda so far) use the product databases, and also display personal stories, randomly selected from a database including name of artist and brief account.

The Products page accesses a database of all current products available, defined with item, producing community, and price, again entered by site admin as product images come on and offline.

ArtEmpower's Shopping Cart Page must forward to an outside party to facilitate secure purchases. PayPal's extensive databases store user information on shipping addresses, billing and payment, and communication preferences.
