This stamp commemorates the Southwest Indians. It shows a piece of pottery that they might have made. The materials used to make the pottery were clay and sand mixed together. To make the body of the pottery the Southwest Indians would stack rope like coils of clay and sand on top of each other. The pottery was used to store food and water. They would use plants and berries to make paint to decorate the pottery with.
