ENME 414 Computer Aided Design
Homework Assignment 2 – Part Modeling
Due Date: Monday, September 21, 1998
Statement: There are a few steps in the process of learning Pro/ENGINEER is to practice. The first step is to learn the fundamentals of the Pro/ENGINEER design system. Because of this you need to read Chapter 4 of the textbook. The second step is to complete a few exercises that are guided. Because of this reason, you need to complete Examples 4-1, 4-2, 4-3, 4-4, 4-5, 4-6, and 4-7. The third step is to go through the part modeling by designing a component on your own. If you successfully complete it, you will gain your confidence.
Reading Assignment: Chapter 4: Pro/ENGINEER Design Systems, from page 4-1 to page 4-4-55.
Problem 1: Design of a product in your daily life. Make sure that the product does not need an assembly process. You have the freedom of choosing the product, such as a coffee mug, a fork, a spoon, a knife, or many others. You need to create a 3D model first. Afterwards, make the 2D engineering projections. Make sure that the dimensions and tolerances are clearly specified.
