Project Goal

To create a scale model bridge to be used as a teaching aid for ENES 102 and ENES 220 students.


STAGE 1-Pro/ENGINEER CAD Product Conceptualization
This involved researching existing designs of current truss bridges and encorporating them into the current design. Pro/E was then used to finalize any design issues and dimensions.

STAGE 2-This stage involved the actual manufacturing of the trusses
Once dimensions of the trusses and other individual components were created, the parts could be manufactured. This involved the use of end mills, drill presses and CNC machining for more complex parts.


STAGE 3-Final Finite Element Analysis of Bridge Model
The final stage consists of performing the finite element analysis by use of Pro/MECHANICA on the model conceptualized during the initial stages of the project.
