Mission of the ProjectTo create an accurate three dimensional model of the human mandible using Pro/Enginnering CAD software and perform finite element analysis.
Outline of ProjectThe project is organized into three stages of development.
STAGE 1-Preliminary Analysis
|
STAGE 2-Three Dimensional Model Construction
In the second stage, the methodology of creating an accurate three dimensional jaw model is developed. A plastic jaw model is encased in an epoxy cube. The cube is then taken to a CNC machine where 2mm thick layers are milled off one at a time. After each milling, a digital camera, attached to the CNC machine head, is used to scan over the face to collect data points of the cross section. The data will then be imported into Pro/E to created the final solid model. |
STAGE 3-Final Finite Element Analysis
