Botticelli and Picasso
Pablo Picasso (1881-1962) started a new style of painting in the 20th Century. His paintings are strange, but are supposed to be great. Why?These two samples may provide an answer to this question.
Sandro Botticelli (1445-1510) was an early Renaissance painter. He did his best to reproduce the human body as created by God. Pablo Picasso thought God only started the organization of various components in the human body. Picasso wanted to complete the organization by rearranging those components. In so doing, Picasso achieved the harmony within the body.
I found this painting at the Hotel Caesar Palace in Las Vegas (USA).
I do not believe this was Picasso's work, but someone wanted to
provide a variation of Botticelli's original painting according to
the Picasso style. From these two paintings, we can see what Picasso
is all about.
