• Qing Shen, Professor of Urban Studies and Planning at University of
  Maryland, worked at Nanjing University for five weeks this summer. As a
  Siyuan Chair Professor at Nanjing University, he taught an elective
  course entitled "Current Topics in Metropolitan Planning". In addition,
  he worked closely with several Professors at Nanjing University on
  academic research and supervision of graduate students.
  

• Ling Jing, Professor of Eudcation, and her collaborators at University of Toronto,
  received a research grant of $150,000 from the Social Science and Humanities Research
  Council in Canada to conduct research on China's higher education expansion,
  civil society formation, and implication on China's participation in the global
  cultural dialogues of civilizations.
