Kachina doll

This stamp commorates a Kachina doll. That is a type of person that lived in the underworld. He taught the people how to live such as planting corn or being thankful for what they have. The Southwest Indians beleved in these supernatural beings. They were a mix of man and god. A Kachina doll is made of cottonwood. The children keep them for good luck.
